Talla 2XLC & Yakooza - "Cocaine"

The legendary pioneer Talla 2XLC joins forces with the iconic producer Yakooza (also known as DJ Wag) to deliver an outstanding modern reimagining of the classic anthem "Cocaine". Originally released in 2000 on Overdose, this fresh collaborative remake on Technoclub Retro serves as a masterclass in high-energy electronic music. Merging retro nostalgia with contemporary production standards, Talla 2XLC and Yakooza structure the track around a professionally engineered techno kick, deep sidechained sub-bass, and a pulsating, mechanical 16th-note bassline. Combined with fierce 909-style open hi-hats and a wide stereo field, the driving energy of this release is guaranteed to resonate with the global #TranceFamily community.

The brilliance of this production is showcased during its cinematic breakdown, where the classic pitch-bent vocal sample is manipulated with ping-pong delays and expansive reverb. Transitioning into a stuttering electro breakbeat, the track builds immense dancefloor tension before unleashing a massive climax driven by detuned supersaws and aggressive square-wave layers. For DJs, this release serves as an invaluable tool to seamlessly bridge hard techno and peak-time euphoria, making it a reliable peak-time banger on massive sound systems.
