Sunlounger – Roger Shah’s longest-standing and most successful alias – returns this August with a new single and a first-time artistic collaboration. “Dancing With A Ghost” sees the German producer joining musical forces with LA-based singer/songwriter Eden Iris.
Of late, achieving ever-greater renown for her indie-folk song-style and contemplative, often intimate lyrics, Eden brings those qualities exactingly to “Dancing With A Ghost”s cause.
Roger’s Original and Club Mixes draw on light batacada percussion, swaying trop-house rhythms and alternating acoustic & prog-rock guitars to form their wistful backing. Eden’s vocal lamentations meanwhile – part Steve Nicks/part Lana Del Rey – beautifully relate Ghost’s affecting tale, chapter and verse.
